10 Ingredient Dry Rub

Use on pork ribs, red meat and poultry.  One place I frequent in the city is Manhattan Fruit Exchange.  Their large selection of spices at a low cost makes it easy to add more spices to your rack at home.

You will need:
1 small bowl
1 mixing spoon
1 8oz Mason jar

2 Tbsp. of Smoked Paprika
1 Tbsp. of Cayenne Pepper
2 Tbsp. of light Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp. of Onion Powder
1 Tbsp. of Garlic Powder
½ Tbsp. of Geera
½ tsp. of ground Ginger
½ tsp of ground Cinnamon
1 Tbsp. of Salt
½ Tbsp. of Black Pepper

In a small mixing bowl, add all spices and mix with a spoon until combined completely.  Don’t be afraid, you can taste it at this point.  Store in a mason jar in a cool dry place.

Note:  for a less spicy rub add ½ Tbsp. of cayenne pepper instead of 1 Tbsp.

  1. A simple post with a nice Rub! Everything here I already have individually as spices so will be an easy mix. May add some Allspice to it. A friend back in NC wanted me to make him a spice mix so I’ll send him this. Thanks for the other link the other day to the other post, it was much appreciated and very helpful post and reading. Love the spice picture too, can almost taste it looking at it.

      I see no problem adding the allspice, but taste a bit with the allspice before adding to the entire rub. Don’t want it to be overpowering.
